Alcaraz Ready to Battle Non-Professionals in Million Dollar One Point Slam

Amateur players are being offered an opportunity to claim one million Australian dollars when they compete against elite players - including top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz - in a single-point showdown leading up to the year's first major

Event planners of the year's first Grand Slam have unveiled the $1 Million Single-Point Tournament, which will pair 10 amateur players against top-ranked players in a elimination competition at Melbourne Park

This Innovative Event Will Work

Players will play 'the classic hand game' to establish who gets to serve or return, and whoever wins the point will advance to the subsequent phase

The winner of the event will receive a significant cash prize

For comparison, players who reached the final four of the main draw competitions in the 2025 Australian Open won substantial prize money

Entry Requirements

Local players - or international players who have registered with the national federation - can enter 'One Point Slam' events at their neighborhood facilities

The champions of the community events will then go into a selection process, with one amateur player from every geographic division picked to participate in the 'championship round' in a evening match on the specified date

There will also be a qualifying draw in December which amateurs, aspiring competitors, famous personalities and sport stars can compete in

It starts on early January and the successful competitors will advance to Wednesday's 'final showdown' with the additional everyday players and 10 professionals
