Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
Jones also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the games following the situation. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and on a positive run.”
