Passionate fans of the actress are urging that a person who breached a fence and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.
A widely shared footage shows the Australian man pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway surrounded by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last December.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user remarked.
Numerous fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote another response on Instagram.
A number of attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.
In videos circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.
Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.
Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it commenced.
The film, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a two-part interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two contrasting witches.
The production itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.
They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and earned a dozen Oscar nominations, earning a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
