The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in the state of California at the age of 55.
His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The influential game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
