The President Calls Relatives of Injured National Guard Personnel to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Devastating Shooting

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their honor.

White House Call

The president explained he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the individual that teachers desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the principal of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to pause asylum processing and halt granting entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed the program that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” he addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
