The UK is prepared to move forward with utilizing the entire amount of frozen Russia's assets to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

UK sanctions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, until now, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had solely been taken from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were aligned in their desire to drive progress toward employing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that further sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration is subsequent to European leaders gathered in Copenhagen previously to discuss utilizing frozen Russia's funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump urged international partners to confiscate or utilize seized Russia's funds, as reported by reports.

The worth of frozen Russian assets in the Europe is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Russia launched extensive bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in electricity outages in many areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were killed and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the assault, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a message on social media following the strike, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in delivering defense mechanisms and applying sanctions," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky told media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to join the Purl program, under which alliance members purchase military equipment from the United States to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the United Kingdom's firm backing for Ukraine, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the program, as well as enforce more measures on Russia.
