NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar and following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the number of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might position two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

Early on of the season, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has excelled big and recent RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the defence to be on the field for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the field vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. The key is is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
